We’re always on the lookout for folks who love to cook and teach healthy, delicious seasonal eating. In some cases, these are professional chefs or caterers. In some cases they are food bloggers or home cooks or health coaches. And we also sponsor students from programs who are learning about and teaching healthy eating. A veces, se hablan español.
The idea is to offer market shoppers a chance to see a new dish made, taste a sample, and take home a copy of the recipe to inspire their own cooking.
The market will cover the cost of market ingredients, and strongly encourages – we might even say insists on – chefs using one or more seasonal ingredients available at our market. Cooking demos last 1-2 hours, and generally start @ 11am. We have a tent, table and tablecloth for chef demos as well and we discuss these educational cooking demonstrations in our weekly newsletter and on our Facebook/twitter accounts.
